The 7 Minute Workout

If you have limited time and want a hard work out try the “7 minute workout”. It has proven to provide similar health benefits as going for a long run and a session of weight training!

The workout consists of 12 exercises and is performed at high intensity with brief recovery periods. The exercises are designed to give different muscle groups a rest by alternating the muscles used, as a result during each set of exercises the rested muscles have time to recover.

To get maximum benefits the intensity of the workout must be around eight on the RPE scale (rate of perceived exertion) 1 being very little and 10 being very heavy.

Below are some examples of exercises that could be performed during the workout:

If you are limited on time this could potentially be a good exercise session, as it is short and if performed correctly a high-quality workout.

However I don’t think this workout could ever beat a good old fashioned run!
